The Story Behind Odour NORMI
It all started with a ground-breaking effort by experts from JM Environet, who developed the first-ever odour policies for the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in India. Before this, odour management was uncharted territory in the country. Recognizing the need for a dedicated research foundation, these visionaries decided to create the NORMI Research Foundation. Thus, the National Odour Research & Management Institute (Odour NORMI) was born, a non-profit and non-governmental public trust.
Odour NORMI isn’t just any institute—it’s a trailblazer in odour management, leveraging cutting-edge technology and a team of dedicated experts. As one of the first of its kind in South East Asia, Odour NORMI has grand ambitions. It collaborates with renowned International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs), institutes, and universities both nationally and internationally to provide top-notch education, training, and skill development programs.
Leading the Way in Odour Research and Solutions
But Odour NORMI’s mission goes beyond research and education. It’s committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets for 2030, particularly focusing on odour mitigation. This institute is on a quest for globally competitive, innovative, and solution-based scientific research on odour. Its goal? To enhance ecological and economic benefits for industries and society at large.
