Bridging Academia & Industry: NRF tackles ESG & Net Zero challenges

Our NGO has been established in response to critical global and national sustainability priorities. As India moves towards its NDC targets and a net-zero goal by 2070 under the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan-2047, industries are under increasing pressure to adopt effective carbon mitigation strategies, comply with evolving BRSR standards, and drive innovation in green technologies. With limited registered carbon neutrality projects—mainly in the energy sector—there is a clear need for breakthrough solutions in infrastructure, green employment, and the circular economy. We aim to bridge the gap between industry, academia, and supply chains, with a strong focus on ESG, BRSR, green finance, and sustainability-driven innovation.

NORMI Research Foundation (NRF) is an autonomous, non-governmental trust committed to pioneering research in Green Credit, Net Zero Carbon, and Odour Management. Drawing on the extensive experience of the JM Group in environmental solutions, NRF integrates practical industry knowledge with advanced research to address key environmental, social, and governance challenges and facilitate a transition towards a green economy.

At NRF, we cultivate collaborations among scientists, industrial leaders, and young professionals to deliver nature-based solutions in carbon management, odour control, and sustainable industrial practices. Our initiatives include job-oriented Net Zero Carbon courses and skill development programs designed to equip the next generation for leadership roles in green energy transitions.

NRF is steered by a distinguished panel of scholars from institutions like IIT Delhi, BHU, NMIMS University, and Bangalore University, as well as former senior scientists from C-DAC, NEERI, IOCL, and regulatory bodies like MoEFCC, CPCB, and NGT. Our advisory board features thought leaders and industry experts from TATA, IITs, and core sectors including steel, petroleum, mining, and cement—ensuring a robust knowledge ecosystem to drive impactful sustainability outcomes.
